What are Same Day Teeth All on 4?
Same day teeth or All-on-4 dental implants are the leading choice in teeth restoration. The procedure is a state of the art treatment in the field of restorative dentistry. The method enables for the replacement of full sets of teeth using just 4 dental implants per arch. The technology may be used on the upper arch or both upper and lower arches together. The treatment is a popular choice for missing teeth or as an alternative to dentures.
Traditional dental implants are used to replace individual teeth or several missing teeth. All on 4 is a leading advancement which allows a full set of prosthetic teeth also referred to as an arch, to be placed using just four implants. Placement is done with precision and set angles to in order to give the necessary support and stability for your new teeth. All on six implants are the same but supported by six implants instead of four.
Is treatment suitable for anyone?
You can call us to book your free consultation if you are considering same day teeth. We will go over your personal requirements and suitability for treatment. We also have a before and after gallery and you may ask any questions you have. We will complete an examination to assess your suitability for treatment. We will also evaluate if you need to have any teeth removed prior to implants being placed. Patients who are able to have extractions are usually fit enough for treatment. Adults can have the treatment at any age. At your appointment we will review your oral health, mouth, jawbone and teeth in order to ensure you achieve the best possible results. All on 4 has a lower cost than traditional dental implants.
How is treatment carried out?
The procedure involves placing the implants at special angles of 45 and 90 degrees to provide a strong foundation. The rear two implants are positioned at 45 degrees and the front two implants are placed at 90 degrees. These angles are set for stability, strength, support and durability. Titanium rods are utilised as this material is well tolerated by the body and will eventually fuse with your jaw bone, further strengthening the foundation. Small attachments (abutments) are placed and secure the restoration to the titanium rod. Your dentist will then examine the fit, comfort and bite of your All-on-4 implants. Thanks to the fact that only 4 implants are needed the treatment is fast and minimally invasive, and the technique allows the jaw bone structure to be maximised. A lot of patients ask if the treatment will be painful, the procedure itself is pain free as anaesthetic is used. After treatment you may have some swelling and soreness but this is quickly relieved with over the counter pain relief.
Why do patients same day teeth?
The treatment is a hugely popular choice and provides many advantages – the main benefit is immediate results. Your smile will be restored on the very same day and you will enjoy an enhanced new smile with full strength and function. As the procedure only requires four implants to support an entire arch, the procedure is fast and considerably less invasive than traditional dental implants. Your prosthetic teeth will be fitted at the same appointment as your implants – so you will get to enjoy your new smile straight away. The treatment does not need any bone grafting thanks to the support and power provided by the angles and positioning. The procedure also prevents jaw bone atrophy, which is the resorption of the jaw bone, or deterioration. This is a common result of tooth loss. All on 4 dental implants prevents this.
Your new smile will enhance your appearance and boost your confidence. You’ll also be able to enjoy all of your favourite meals again without any hassle or restrictions, and you’ll also find that your bite has greater power.
What’s the difference between All on 4 and dentures?
Dentures are removable and need to be placed on soft gum tissue which negatively affects gum health, which makes the dentures unstable and uncomfortable. Dentures are known to wobble when worn which is obviously very irritating. Dentures are also unattractive and can lower your confidence. This is true at meal times or in social situations for example. Wearing dentures also means restricting your food choices, as well as having to eat soft foods due to having a weak bite. For these reasons dentures are less than perfect and negatively influence and restrict your lifestyle. The all on 4 procedure gives you a permanent set of teeth that look feel and function as natural teeth. You can have confidence knowing that your prosthetic teeth will be stable, strong comfortable, functional as well as looking brilliant.
